THE CARE OF PRETTY THINGS
MORE RESPONSIBLE CARE
The care of textile products is a significant part of their impact. Here's how to take care of your pieces more responsibly.
#1 Use a washing bag
such the Guppyfriend, which retains micro-particles. We recommend using a washing net for your synthetic fibre items to limit the dispersion of micro-particles in the water, but you can also use one for your natural or artificial items to limit the impact of the machine drum on your items.
#2 Prefer cold washes or washes at 30°C maximum and short or eco cycles.
#3 Reduce the number of revolutions per minute of your washing machine. This reduces energy consumption and friction between the clothes and the machine drum. For garments that last longer.
#4 Let your garments air dry.
#5 Reduce the frequency with which you wash your wardrobe items. Washing them too often can damage them, and airing them often can be enough. It's a win-win situation: less energy consumption and better-looking clothes that last longer.
#6 Choose natural detergents (detergents with organic labels, detergents without plastics or abrasive chemicals. Kerzon detergents are a good example) to limit their impact on water and avoid softeners. Fabric softeners have a major negative impact on water and biodiversity, and none of our items require fabric softener to keep them soft.
These are some tips for more responsible care that will also help your items last longer.
