Inside Ysé’s drawers, some pieces hold a very special place, on top of the stacked underwear or well-placed near the pretty tops. They are those sets that you put on so often, those who turned into favourites, season after season.
Source d’amour is the Ysé icon that we all have in mind.
A lingerie theme made from embroidered tulle and recycled fibres, who found its place inside our weekly lingerie rotation since 2020.
A love story
It all started with a crush on a fabric at our historical supplier: a tulle with delicate floral embroidery. It was love at first sight between him and our style team. This Swiss supplier has always believed in Ysé’s ambition, and has allowed us to dream our collection always bigger, to grow on the right path.
In 2020, the style team drew out its pencil to fix on paper the first strokes of this new story. We imagined simple shapes, with lines that allowed the embroidery design to shine. The light was put on the games of opacity, in a whirl of simple tulle and embroideries. These sketches gave birth to Source d’amour: precious, sensual pieces with a daily comfort to them.
To bring these sketches to life, the product team takes over. First, we detail on paper the specifics of our next icon: the chosen fabric, the measures, the supplies… Only then comes the creation process, the elaboration of the pattern by our technical designers, the assembly of the prototypes, fittings and work on adapting the cuts for all sizes. A whirlwind of to and fro to create the perfect lingerie, down the millimetre.
Only once the products are meeting our (numerous) standards, then they are sent to production in our partner factories in Morocco, which belongs to the Euromed zone, as is the case for all of our manufacturers.
The icon
From one year to the next, these pieces have not left our side: whether you favour the half-cup bras, the triangles or the push-up, the classic or tanga briefs, our favourites became yours.
It is by meeting the clients that we understood at last: Source d’amour was here to last.
The chemistry was there straight away, and the amount of love it received made it enter the very sought-after Icons drawer. As the seasons passed, new shades were born, especially created for Ysé: 10 colours, including English green, red, navy blue, or grapefruit were added to the forever black and ivory. A changing palette that made it unique, bringing it back to life for those who were already under its spell, and introducing it to those more interested in seasonal colourways.
Your bodies at heart
Because we have your bodies at heart, and because we believe it is always possible to do better, our teams think up every season new ways to make our Source d’amour always more perfect.
Some details have been adjusted to better suit the comfort and style standards we hold, and new sizes have been added, so that more of you can wear it. Always keeping comfort and support in mind, the product team had adapted the pieces depending on the sizes: the cup is lined starting from size FR 90C (US 34C), the straps and elastic bands are wider from D-cup upwards, and for the shapes in an E-cup, a wider back allows for more support.
Doing better
Always striving to do better also means having our environmental responsibility at heart. More and more conscious of our environmental impact, we comply with our CSR standards which are more demanding every season. We are now looking mostly for raw materials made from recycled fibres, at least certified at 50%. High standards indeed, that our product team applies to our new collections as well as our icons.
Recently, our team succeeded in changing the Source d’amour tulle to make it more sustainable thanks to recycled fibres: even the slightest change in material has an impact on our shapes, so a few fitting adjustments were made. A change that may seem subtle, but it has enabled the product to reduce its average carbon impact by 6.6%, and its use of fossil fuels by 13.2%*.
So that our icon remains the same, with a little something that makes it better.
And because we believe that the best relationships are built on trust, the majority of the traceability chain of each piece is available to all.
